dividend or share buyback

I have been reading about poe.v paying a dividend and the stock goes down but those people should look at cen.v that did a hugh share buy back and the stock is lower the all the buy backs. I'm almost certain if market conditions were better they would both be doing good.

I expect announcent tomorrow and we will see if it appears. It could be a very nice nice one timer (fingers crossed)

I don't think a one time dividend or a share buy back is all that effective for raising the sp. The perception is illustrated by the word "yield".  Stock screeners will not pickup a special dividend as a yield for people that are chasing yield. If we go 5c a quarter that's a 20% yield.  It will not stay at 20% it is to tempting in a 1.5% 10 years treasury world. This puppy is percolating but it's only IMHO of course. Cheers

The perception is illustrated by the word "yield".  Stock screeners will not pickup a special dividend as a yield for people that are chasing yield.   That isn't the case for yahoo stock screener, it does include special dividends in their yield quotations.  I suspect you may be wrong for another reason:  it wouldn't make any sense for them not to be included. ...more
