wonder why

the SP has not breached $1.50 by now. One would think that the dividend announcement would have spurred a more continuous/agressive  buying with stock price support via the next/ongoing dividends to come at least.

As far as post-div SP drop...I am not sure it will happen. The fact that the SP has not risen as much as I had expected may mean that this is the new support level although it may drop 1-5c, but only an hour or two...IMO

Remember there are other good dividend paying stocks; some investors may think that others are less risky, so Mart's high yield indicates at least a perception of higher risk than most dividend paying stocks.  For instance, PMT (PennyMac) trades on NYSE, has higher mktcap than Mart, pays about 10% annually and the stock price has been steadily on an upslope for the last few months.
