Mart merger with Partners?

any further  whispers about this hapening? The timing? Any truth to the rumour of a buy-in by the partners which gets distributed to shareholders as a special divy? Surprised there has ben no speculation / discussion about this recently. Usually the pumpers would be all over that sot of thing.

Yes that's a bit of a pump in itself, but I am honestly surprised I have not seen any chatter about it.

My feeling is that it's a work in progress that will take some time.  I'm not that concerned with it now because there are more imminent deliverables (like where's our UMU-10 update)! :-)

Mart is presently structured as a "risk developer" it has no chance to be acquired by anybody. Mart does not own the field they own a contract to develope the field in exchange for 50% of the reserves and production. New marginal fields will come the same way the partnership with Midwestern and Suntrust is setup.  Mart has the experience and the best reputation of any marginal ...more

I say make them wait.....  Umu 10 and future drilling could create a much bigger number for the companies net worth......Management needs to continue building the Bankroll, Production, and proven reserves before entertaining any buyout offer unless its a big premium to the current share price...Cheers Billy !

IMHO, the dividend payments were an indication that Mart wants to merge with a Nigerian entity to qualify as an indigenous company.   Particularly they want to merge with an existing UMU partner who has plenty of cash as well.  Adding Mart's shi*load and a half plus future partner's shi*load and a half will create an indigenous company with a triple shi*load of money and cashflow ...more

oullins, what do you think the chances are of this contract being re-worked in favour of the landowners or worse case scenario revoked at any point in the future as reserves continue to get proven up. thanks.  appreciate your posts as always.

Your logic does not make sense. HOC could acquire Marts 50 % working interest, just like it is acquiring 30 % of another indigenous oil field. What makes Mart so special that its ( max ) 50 % interest could not be acquired by HOC or any other suitor ? Nothing imo. Mart is not indigenous but qualifies by its association with indigenous partrners much like HOC is doing.

Heritage oil (HOC) did not acquired a stake in an indigenous company it acquired a working interest from Shell in a field (OML 30) owned 55% by the Nigerian government: "Tony Buckingham, has formed a Nigerian joint-venture called Shoreline to buy a 45pc stake in a major onshore oil producing block known as OML 30. Shell owned 30pc of the block, with Total and ENI as minority partners. The ...more
