RE:Merger, Merger, Merger-Bla, Bla, Bla

Mart has been looking for a long time to buy some fields but has yet been able to pull the trigger.

Be that as it may, Mart must have looked at other appealing assets that fit the bill. The properties Mart may have considered thus far can't all be duds. As an alternate, I'd prefer to see Mart also grow by acquisition than to merge. Would it not be more advantageous to buy a company with producing assets and growing production such as ...more

* the answer to your question is a simple no. * MMT does not want to massively dillute their share-holder base (over 100 mm shares owned by a few NY guys alone) over such an aquisition where they do not have the necessary funds to close the deal without needing to raise a larger amount of capital. * their technical team is shrewd enough to have identified serveral properties that they will bid on ...more

Isn't Energie/Oando's Ebendo oilfield just northwest of Umusadege?  If MMT mgt thinks the UMU field connects to the Oando field, doesn't that make Oando a potential takeover by MMT?

Even if you did only a share for share deal you are not diluting the shareholder value. The new shares issued are for assets and or operating goodwill which in the long term should add shareholder value otherwise you would not do the acquisition ...more

* typically when an aquisition occurs the aquired company goes up in value while the aquiring company drops in value.  I would prefer to see the company add another asset that they have researched via their technical team through the next Marginal Bid Round.    * each to their own, however.
