Very disturbing, yes, but an extremely one sided presentation designed soley and specifically to raise money for the cause.  Shell obviously declined to be interviewed when they saw the hatchet job that would have resulted.  This was a 60 Minutes expose on steroids. An extremely complicated problem where the common guy- as usual- gets screwed.  There are so many fingers to point in ...more

i don't really care whose fault it is, as it is most likely everyone's fault. There is little doubt that Shell is the main villain, as this is the way they have operated throughout the undeveloped world. Major US companies have done the same thing in other countries. And there is no doubt that the Nigerian government is responsible, as they are too busy reaping the profits from the oil ...more

Wouldn't the prudent thing to do be to sell your investment and move on to a more environmentally responsible company. Say a wind power or solar power company. How do you sleep at night? Sell and move on would be my advice. If you support Mart you support the politicians. You said it yourself. Quit being such a hypocrite.

The true hypocrites are the ones who hide their heads in the sand becasue of their greed. I assume that you are one of those. By the way, I do have money invested in renewable energy companies, and the amount involved is a factor of ten greater than my investment here.
