Makes you wonder what is the Motive ?

I don't like throwing out a Conspiracy theory but this squeeze being put on Mart Really makes you think......We have had since October 31st 50 days of production and about 100 shut in Days....Mart used to allocate about 5 days a month in down time not 4 times that amount...... Mart looked to be coming a Financial king pin and that was validated by Dividend payments to its shareholders. Now with Production being what it has been the last 5 months it looks like a case of someone looking to dry up Marts Cash Flow......Mart is publicly traded and its shareprice and bottom line is effected greatly when they cant ship Oil for long periods of Time......Mid Western Oil and Gas is partly owned by the Delta State Government and some Nigerian Entrepreneurs. They dont care about Marts Share price unless they looking at lowering it to Merge or Buy Mart Out...We have had great drilling Success and a big increase in proven reserves but now we cant ship any Oil and with UMU 9 and UMU 10 results you would have thought Midwestern with the Government backing would have forced Agip to give Mart more pipeline Capacity.....Too bad its turned out this way......We all say the new pipeline is the answer .....but i say show me the signed agreement with all  Systems Go ..... If we cant get the Oil out of Ground and Shipped at the end of the Day......What do we really have and what is it worth?

I have to agree with you Billy. Been around since the Abacan days in Nigeria - remember that one? That's why I dumped 50% of my Mart holdings today.  Too many shares being dumped and no news release? Too many unknowns for me. Friends and family of insiders do tend to get info earlier than the rest of us. Ive seen similar things happen with other stocks way too many times. These are ...more

I disagree about your conspiracy theory. Reasons: 1. Midwestern just lent Mart 100million on good terms 2. AGIP pipeline is shared with other fields that dominate Marts interest 3. AGIP is not controlled by Midwestern, its controlled by Eni 4. Midwestern would be shooting itself in the foot 5. Mart one of the highest FCF, so even with constant disruption it wouldnt work 6. Midwestern cant stop ...more

Midwestern did not lend Mart 100 million.....The loan was secured out of London for Marts Nigerian resources subsidiary ..... part of the problem is Midwestern seems to be a little short in cash or they would have closed a merger deal months ago......... Midwestern is partially government owned....They should have the leverage to secure more pipeline capacity for Mart and themselves........just ...more

Maybe you know Energy, but I trust you still have lots to learn about Mart.   I disagree about your conspiracy theory. Reasons: 1. Midwestern just lent Mart 100million on good terms - False, Mart arranged a loan with Guarante Trust Bank PLC. one of the leading Banbk in Nigeria. 2. AGIP pipeline is shared with other fields that dominate Marts interest - It is NOT Mart's interest per ...more

Maybe some anticipate some dilution due to an acquisition, and the pipeline thingys a nice spin/smoke   Cheers

Just read on  IV board, great idea why not truck the oil by truck the 54km a day with armed guards? Why not build a rail line ? With zero oil line loses we  should cover the extra costs? Short term trucks would work with long term pipeline built with modern security? Must be something they can do.....
