Shell Adopts Daily Helicopter Overfly to Check Illegal Bunke

Shell seems to be pushing  back harder than the others in Nigeria against oil theft.

Daily helicopter overflights, but still losing 60,000 b/d a day to theft and shut ins.  Article does not break in down between the theft and shut ins.

Took long enough, why did they not do this a year ago? I wonder what the environmental liabilities are with all that oil pissing out. Bunkering is not an environmentally conscience enterprise.
