Denmark's privately-held toy maker Lego says its net profits in 2010rose more than 65 percent from a year earlier, boosted by a global toymarket recovery and vigorous sales growth in the United States, Russiaand eastern Europe.
Thursday's annual report showed a netprofit of 3.68 billion kroner ($1.24 million), a steep climb from 2009when it posted 2.22 billion kroner.
Sales, mainly of Lego'spopular plastic building blocks, rose 37.3 percent to 16 billionkroner, from 11.7 billion the year before.
Classicproduct lines like Lego City, Lego Star Wars and Lego Duplo generatedthe largest sales but the group says all product lines sold more thanexpected.
