Wall Street for Main Street interview...

Hey everyone, I wanted to post this interview because it is a very interesting. Now for "up front" purposes. The interview is with Noland Watson, the President and CEO of Sandstorm Gold. However a lot of topics are covered in the sector (POG, mines, Junior miners, cost cutting, even mine truck tires) and of course you will get some SSL talk also. It is 40 minutes long and I suggest everone listen to it in it's entirety. I think you will find it very informative even if your not interested in purchasing SSL. When listening, keep in mind during the topics how, or where MTO fits into the topics applicable to it. I will also say that MTO is mentioned in the interview, however I'm not going to tell you where it is because I think everything has to be listened to just because of the varity and depth of some of the topics and virtually all other topics apply to MTO.

So, when Watson says that Metanor will not be in production in 2019, is he referring to Sandstorm's money stream not in production or does he mean that MTO will cease to exist?

Gatorone, The first time he mentioned this the word survive was used (about 3 months ago). Now based on what we do know, Bachelor and Hewfran and maybe some of Moroy (surface) will last a couple years. From there, it looks like it's up to Barry which SSL doesn't get anyway  As for Barry, I personallyI don't think it's going to be the great boom everyone says it is. If Barry is ...more

you make a good point fruitvale  but the problem you will have is investing in another co that hasnt moved up yet and most have and are due to correct . MTO meanwhile made modest gains and once prove positive gains in their financials has a lot of room to the upside.  Then there is tax credits and a chance of a takeover  and Barry could prove a lone venture , this takes time and ...more

... or mto could drop 50% along with the rest.  We don't know. That's why you wait for a pullback - it's called discipline and good money management.

Actually pdcon if you put a chart of MTO and EGI next to each other from the first of the year you will see they are practically identical. MTO may have a larger percentage gain but it's not much. As far as the rest of your comments. I wish you luck, your going to need it.

Good luck to you, fruit. I, for one, will miss your point of view. It has been my experience that boards without back and forth commentary tend to become worthless pump rooms. I have had a problem with management for quite a while as have a few others, While I don't have the acumen in analysis of PM stocks, I have been investing for enough decades to know bad managers when I see them. The ...more

Hi Fruit, You will be missed. I really enjoyed your commentary and objective point of view. I hope you still drop by often and provide your 2 cents when you can. As for your comments above regarding why they aren't mining Barry right away, I think that fits in quite well with what Nolan was stating in his interview that miners have been harvesting higher grade ore while gold prices have been ...more

Well said fruitvale.   Please do stop in from time to time as I do, not many on this board with objectivity abd you are more diplomatic than I when it comes to posting the truths that most don't want to hear. Either way, this is probably the most entertainng board on stockhouse.
