Osisko Mining and Barkerville Gold

Interesting, Osisko mining, Barkerville Gold Mines and Eric Sprott did a deal on Monday. Any comments? Why not Metanor, what are they waiting for?

Not sure how much money Osisko spent but it is odd to build up your Barry properties then end up in a mountain somewhere in B.C. Someone is going to have to eventually build a mine, Metanor certainly has the expertise to do in a cost effective manner. The money part may be an issue but I believe investors can be found.

What else is interesting is that gold standard ventures has doubled it's share price since monday based on the last intercept returning 126m at 3.95 g/t from 165m below surface.  It's a great intercept but it really shows how irrational these markets are. Last year TMM twinned a previous hole on anna paula with the same result; 200m at 8.33 g/t right from surface.  That is ...more

Lets play connect the dots ...OSK ...Sprott...Roosen ! 1st - Follow the money and you will see all roads are leading to Barry... 2nd - Oban ( Osisko mining ) buys Windfall and Souart property in the middle of this 15 km trend is MTO and Barry open pit...once Osk finish trenching and proving up the same zones that run from  Souart to Windfall through Barry ...and we deliver our PEA on Barry  ...more

Interesting thoughts Bob, Oban bought out a miner I once had which resulted in a lot of shareholder bitterness. As far as I am concerned, they can take their ball and go play in a park on the other side of town.

I had the same thing happen when I had TME Oban LOW BALL ...luckly LSG came in with a better deal...lets hope we make it to the PEA on Barry... with gold staying over 1700 Canadian MTO has mined 6 weeks since the end of last Q so gold bars is money in the bank today and who knows what has been added since the last report...market cap on MTO is a joke share price needs to rise...and soon or a stink ...more

I just did an estimated value of the Barry property. 1 Measured - Indicated resources 305,400 oz. $60 $18,324,000 2 Inferred resources 1,046,000 oz. x $20 = $31,380,000. Some claim 2 million ounces are possible. Not sure what the bachelor mill is worth, wouldn't know where to start.

It's an interesting look into Osisko's thinking. Basically very few great deposits left in Canada. So the real question is does MTO's Barry deposit qualify. For now Osisko hasn't invested in MTO, and of course no buyout offer yet, You would think that if Osisko was interested in Barry/MTO the two companies would get together and work out a financing deal to better define the Barry ...more

I see no activity other than what Metanor is doing. Not sure where the money would come from for a buyout, names mentioned do not have a revenue stream and operate at a loss using other peoples money.

Osisko Royalties ... Osisko Gold Royalties earns $15.65-million in Q2 2016... Osisko Gold Royalties (TSX: OR; NYSE: OR) is on the hunt for deals with $424 million in cash. Osisko Mining needs mill and the Barry property to connect Windfall to Souart property15 KM STRIKE and then their set to become a Mid Tier producer for years and years..making cash right away...and expanding their plans ...more

Bob, I was looking at the Oban website financials. Earnings don't always tell the whole story, if you know an accountant, I would print off a copy of Consolidated Financial Statements and get an opinion. The three months ended March 31, 2016 showed a loss if I was reading it correct. Numbers in brackets usually indicate a loss.

Unless I am missing something here, Metanor doesn't need Osisko.

There were always two options with MTO, Buyout/merger, and go it alone. I was a fan of going it alone because I believe that's where bigger money could be made. But that was with years of mining remaining at Bachelor Lake, which doesn't look like it's the case. IMHO MTO needs to prove up many more ounces at Barry or Moroy if a buyout is going to take place. If they can turn that 1 ...more
