re--gold
Canada's interest rate is a mild effect compared to U.S.--easily absorbed within a week. As to geopolitical effects--on an individual basis you are correct and the markets are adapting, North Korea fires an ICBM and it's sort of 'what's new'? I'm talking about the overall geopolitical change that has crept in over the years and puts us where we stand today. North Korea has to dismantle their nuclear program, there is no other solution it's just a matter of who brings the pressure to bear and how. China by economics--not likely, they want a nuclear armed NK and I think they have been helping NK achieve what they have today; so who has to act? as usual the U.S. and look who's in charge Trump/Mattis. That's just one thing, the most dangerous, but it's all over the globe. It's the ubiquitous nature and the level of danger that is different and so will not go away for years and supports safe haven gold. Just poking fun at your followers now and then--they do seem a little too dependent now and then--sometimes just a little too much praise for their leader for some of us to digest. I have no reason to think goldh is anything but a good person. It would not be humble for me to characterize mysefl as good or bad--mixed as most. IMO
