08:33 AM EST, 11/02/2020 (MT Newswires) -- E-commerce and strategic sourcing company MDF Commerce Inc. (MDF.TO), which lost 4.0% last Friday, said Monday that it agreed to pay US$5.3 million in cash to acquire Vendor Registry, Inc, a provider of strategic sourcing solutions in the U.S. Closing is expected Nov. 16.

MDF said the acquisition adds nearly 400 buyers and 70,000 suppliers nationally to its strategic sourcing platform, boosting its position in 10 states and expanding its agency client base to 14 new states.

MDF also added Chris Van Beke, co-founder and CEO of Vendor Registry, as vice president for channel development, strategic sourcing.
