Vaccines are TOO LATE - Variants ARE flooding the USA
This is my two cents.
The number of deaths and around the world is SURGING even though the infection rates are lower. This means that the new strain of covid19 is MORE DEADLY.
Vaccine makers have already stated that their vaccines are not as effective agains the variants and, that the South Africia variant evades the vaccine altogether. Moderna and Pfizer are rushing back to the laboratory to try to develop a vaccine for the variant.
Unfortunately for the world, the present vaccines are too late. They only provide antibodies for 6 months and, they do not work well on the variants. The pace at which the US is vaccinating people is so slow that variants are going to take over so all that effort amounts to very little progress.
Add to this that some countries do not even know how to apply the vaccine. Some are giving doses 90 days apart even though it was not tested for this and are told that it does not protect. Isreal showed that the true efficacy of the 1st dose of Pfizer is only 33% and not 90% as touted.
What this means is that the ONLY WAY for people to protect themselves for MANY YEARS is through TESTING, TESTING, TESTING.
And in this avenue, MEDV is KING.
