Failed summer road construction blamed for project delays

A little bit of a setback for Husky - the building of their all-season road through swamp has stalled.

Opps..I believe the correct terminology is "muskeg".    I'm pretty confident that Husky will sort this out since they have operated for years in the Zama Lake area of NW Alberta which is big time Muskeg.   I even had the pleasure of driving that road one summer but that's another story.

I think they tried to use shale instead of gravel because there was no gravel pits in the vicinity.  If the shale had a high clay content then it would have turned to mushy clay when put into Swamp.  Note that the Canol shale has a very low clay content so they must have used a different shale formation which outcrops there.
