Imperial Oil puts Mackenzie Valley pipeline on hold

But Pius Rolheiser, spokesman for Imperial Oil, says no construction doesn't mean the project is dead.

"I would emphasize that the approval, the certificate of public convenience and necessity that was issued to Imperial, continues to be valid and allows for activities to be ramped up should conditions change and as conditions change," he said.

glacierman So where will Imperial get the NG for their big export plans is the big question ?Well i can give you a hint in my opinion , do not rule out the canol shale because these days pipelines do not have to go over mountains or around them. They just bore through them and you say i full of poo. Well down here in Ohio a company is laying a line from eastern Ohio heading to Texas ...more

Farm,  I’m the first to admit that I did not fully understand the so-called “planning clause” of December 2013.      I was under the mistaken assumption that Imperial would have to issue a definitive “YES” or “NO” to the project.      Boy was I wrong.    In retrospect, the Yukon website most accurately described the progress ...more

Well, its certainly not the best news we could have heard, but I was at least happy to see the share price didn't tank even further. I guess that just means (which makes sense at these levels) that the current share price has already priced in the natural gas assets being stranded however much longer. This would have been a nice bonus, but clearly the only near-term gains we'll ever see ...more
