Marin Katusa on Alterra

I am dangerously spilling a few beans out of Marin Kutusa Research’s January ‘2017 Outlook’ newsletter.
-
Katusa on Alterra, Quote:
-
I have no hesitation to say 2017 will be a great year for AXY shareholders, and I will explain why. [RJ: - Can anyone guess where this is surprisingly going? ]
I have personally increased my holdings of AXY over the last 12 months.
-
-
One of my “secrets” in successful resource speculation is paying very little for big upside.
...  Alterra is another great example of this in real-time.
For example, when we first recommended Alterra, the share price was valuing its built and producing North American assets at a discount, and we got its Iceland producing and development projects around the world for free.
-
-
I would not be surprised to see Alterra grow production by over 250MW net to AXY shareholders over the next 36 months and with that an increase in share price and dividend.

-
-
[RJ: - I don’t feel safe going further.]
End Quote.
-
Perhaps a hint next week.

RJ Thank you for the posting.  Here is a link for Katusa that explains green energy. He is forecasting (roughly) that by 2020 AXY may have ~ 600 MW ownership and manage roughly 1,200 MW.  The family would then have 10 or 11 production facilities;  up from 7 last month and up from 8 today. Katusa's musings all seem reasonable.  Just one and only one big ...more

Thank you for sharing.  I find Marin Katusa writings interesting.   I believe he writes them to clarify and support his position as well as document his reasoning (this is a good practice we can all do more of). I am curious with your readings and some of your sharing of certain quotes if this has also motivated you to change your share position in any way?  Maintain, increase ...more

BoldForbes; I enjoy your philosophical musings.  However, the whole story is about management.  I say "enough already".  They have been wasters of shareholder money for 6 or 7 years.  How much time do they need?  I fear that they are deficient in grasping basic business.  Basic business means many things and it includes the ongoing need to sell output above ...more
