Alterra's next move

I think Alterra's next move in order to really
jumpstart this stock is to merge with
another company so that they can become much bigger. 
Their existing growth plan doesn't seem to be
moving fast enough to keep investor's interest.
Is this a possibility in the near future anyone?

RDK241t, I was hoping that Alterra would have used the "road show" last year as showcase for M&A activity, but they stated last year (as I recall) they were going to go it alone.  Perhaps they will change their mind or alter the course after 12 months.  M&A is how Alterra was formed. We might need a stronger board; voting will be shortly. The growth path seems OK ...more

RDK Up there for thinking.  You are right on about the benefits of merging.  Bigger companies can borrow money a little bit cheaper and you obviously get economies of scale. It could rid us of the wasteful AXY habit of having too many joint ventures.  The project has to then support 2 corporate overhead expenses.  It is much better to have a good size project and own 100% ...more

RJ What is Flat Top It is correct to say that it is in Texas just like Shannon. Sadly, you should be fearful.  Like Shannon, it will be another big loser for AXY AXY does not know how to negotiate pricing for electricity and so they will do what they normally do.  Sell below economic cost They will sell electricity from Flat Top that will be at a lower price than an economic level ...more
