Synthesis and Ink-Jet Printing of Highly Luminescing
Silicon Nanoparticles for Printable Electronics https://scholar.google.ca/scholar_url?url=https://www.uni-due.de/imperia/md/images/aglorke/publikationen/synthesis_and_ink-jet_printing.pdf&hl=en&sa=X&ei=mhgDY8DsGKOVy9YPxsakqAY&scisig=AAGBfm1nfy3x47K5DASRVqqCUkb-e4NPfA&oi=scholarr So, where could the market be headed ? As i've mentioned weeks ago,
Perovskite is gaining traction as a printable solar film.
Cheap to print, but the longesvity needs working on.
Still, Perovskite is not as abundant as, silicon.
Next up is... halide inks...
Halides from any one of salt minerals.
Ink is made from these salt halides and used to print the solar cells.

Article does mention other halides ( other than perovskite )

WHAT DID I JUST COME ACROSS ? 200% efficiency using - silicon oxide nano particles - that coat a silicon solar cell.
Allows better absorbtion of photons. Yes... silicon oxide.
Makes me wonder if this sort of tech could be an alternative to - furnace melt silicon ?
Wish i had more intel on thier process - like a video - to know for sure if it's just SiO2 or,
ultra purified Si02 ? Isn't one of MGX's silicon depoists with a good - 99% grade ?
I've scanned the paper ( twice ) but my eyes are too strained to fully digest their technique.
200% increase in photon absorbtion vs conventional cells - nothing to sneeze at...
such is huge.
It's all about getting the mineral to another who has the tech -
If the silicon deposits are already - oxide -
Perhaps converting it to a - nano particle - could fetch a higher price and out the door to another
who has the SRO formula and let them.... perform the heat film treatment \?
I don't know.
If Perovskite can be printalbe - surely... silicon could as well ?
Just a matter of taking the silicon oxide ot a nanao - and or insert in an ink style format to be
printable.
I wonder if this - SRO spray film tech - could be used for - semi conductors ? Here's the paper -

Conclusions
From the analysis of AFM measurements we concluded
that the better value for Isc corresponds to the P2 SRO film
with a surface roughness of 3.85 nm and grain diameter of
250 nm. The silicon solar cells passivated with SRO indeed
showed better results than solar cell passivated with SiO2 in
the visible and near-infrared spectra. The increase in the
efficiency is due to the absorption of high-energy photons
(UV) within the SRO film and the subsequent reemission
of red light to the body of the cell. The I-V characteristics
for these cells showed very good results in open circuit
voltage and short current values, so that their energy
conversion efficiency was increased by ∼ 200 % with
respect to the SiO
