THERE'S A DFFERENCE...
Oil and Gas companies have rights to,
hydrocarbons.
While on the opposite side,
Salts + Water form Salt Hydroxides
By the very clever move to dispose of, CO2
in salt brines the CO2 will eventually convert
salt brine oxides to, carbonates.
Which could very well qualify as, carbons.
Thus, all brines would fall under hydrocarbons
