MYI pays a monthly income which is mostly tax free. It's a closed end fund listed on the NYSE.
MuniYield Insured Fund is a non-diversified, closed-end management investment company. The fund seeks to provide shareholders with as high a level of current income as is consistent with its investment policies and prudent investment management. At least 80% of the fund's assets will be invested in municipal obligations with remaining maturities of one year or more which are covered by insurance guaranteeing the timely payment of principal at maturity and interest. The fund may hedge its portfolio through the use of options and futures transactions. The fund will leverage itself through the issuance of preferred stock.
