Wondering about IMCC
So ... Dec 2020, IMC announced takeover of Trichome Financial (led by then CEO of JWC Howard Steinberg). If these names sound familiar, think back to 2019 when MYM set up a credit facility with Trichome while MYM was led by the same Mr. Steinberg. Steinberg remained with IMC to head up NA operations. Deal closed earlier this month.
Since it typically takes several months/weeks to put a takeover deal like this together, why did MYM settle for 17% premium shortly after announcing first actual profits? You may recall that Rogers paid a 70% premium to acquire Shaw Communications early this year.
Also, IMC filed short form prospectus for up to $250 million USD yesterday. It will be interesting to see at what prices securities are issued under that prospectus.
