Question re Pomp and O’Leary interview

Hi everyone, am invested and long on Defi Technologies. Am trying to learn and understand more how smart investors are making money in the defi space aside from speculating on the price of digital coins (Bitcoin being the best example). This is an amazing interview if you haven't seen it already between Pomp (who is an advisor at DeFi Tech) and Kevin O'Leary. I'm pasting link below. 
My question is, O'Leary in this interview discusses using Bitcoin assets to generate yield (4-8%) by loaning out his bitcoin. Does anyone understand this, or have a resource or link that could help me understand how this works? 
I really believe we're on the cusp of something major with this company, good luck to all investors!
