National Research Council of Canada Funding is HUGE

The NRC has been following this from its intitial investment/involvement all the way to this point, where they now step up and give $500,000 in funding.

Funding to make sure this seamlessly now goes into full production!

Thus is COMPLETE VALIDATION that the Biocloud product works.  They have been seeing the data, the field test results etc.  They are in the loop.  And they say:  YES

This is huge news for Kontrol.

Congrats to the entire team.

KNR does NOT need this funding. It is not about the money. The MUCH bigger significance of this is that NCR is a government agency that has looked at the Biocloud and is sufficiently satisfied to endorse it. Potential government clients now have that added confidence from a government research agency. THAT is the significance - the additional vote of confidence that POTENTIAL clients have to ...more

Completely agree canyousayii.  I was going to point out the same thing. They dont even need the money. But they do want the endorsement. Which they now have. Biocloud works. As well, there is usually some sort of agreement that the Canadian Gov't gets a bit of a priority in the que when/if they decide they need the product too. Like I said.  Huge news.  Huge win for ...more

Also good news on Middle East pilots. The price of Biocloud for some of the countries there is nothing.

Yup. Canada, USA, New Zealand, Australia, India, Middle East. This is just the starting point boys and gals. Fully global faster than you know it.

Correct!! But I would also argue that it does more than just 'technical' validation. IMO, it also speaks to any 'timing' doubts people/customers may have in that it confirms this relevant public agency agrees that there is a significant future and applicability for this tech/products for the foreseeable future. Lastly, while I agree it's "not about the money", fact is ...more

Fantastic news.  Agree this is validation and they have had the initial data and follow ups between Kontrol and NRC since Sept 11 so almost 3 months of analysis!

I'd like to see them plow that $500K into R&D to further improve BioCloud, for example by coming up with a chamber that doesn't need replacing for every positive, or at least make a replacement dirt cheap even if that would ding recurring revenue.  Might also be worth their (and our) while to get going on a breathalyzer version, even if it involves Health Canada and months of time ...more

Whydunnit, I fully agree with you. I hope and expect that KNR will continue researching and evolving the product. I expect it will become more affordable in the future and I would hope that the area coverage can somehow increase....or that is taken care of through cost and making multiple units affordable. I understand the Health Canada angle, but I don't. Ok, lets say HC needs to get involved ...more

I agree that if the blow-and-detect method works, then BioCloud can be used as sort of a de facto covid test for individuals.  They could never promote it like that though, or probably even suggest it, or they'd have Health Canada down their necks with restraining orders and whatever else until such time as HC approves it for that medical use.  It would likely have to be a function ...more

Bingo canyousayii !!  You hit the nail squarley on the head. KNR does NOT need this funding. It is not about the money.
