Name change...

From down here it seems a little weird. Different country sure but the similarities here are weird:

Well they would have to, right? A simple search brings up a tire company that offers "kontrol technology" in their tires, a California company called Kontrol Technologies, and the one I posted with a C instead of a K and remarkably similar graphic. So what is the thought behind the name change when it is so decidely not unique - especially when they do business here in the US? What am I ...more

Kontrol Energy is not very unique either. Energy is generic like Technology and Kontrol is phonetic of control. Technology gives a different level of sophistication, and moves it away from a connotation of producing energy. And maybe helps folk put you into the technology sector where comparables likely command higher multiples on some metrics. They are still a young company so not as big of a ...more

Yet I can only find one Kontrol Energy anywhere... so the potential obfuscation created by changing to a name that is neither uniques nor compelling, whether it be by oversight or design, does not sit well with me. I question it. I think it is lame. It makes me doubt. Don't worry, I won't sell my shares and drag the price down. But don't kid yourself, the price is down because after ...more

Maybe Johnson Kontrols. Nobody is counting on the name change to make a difference....just one of a number of initiatives towards positioning for the long term. We are getting impatient, and somewhat understandably at this point. I am hoping for some sales related NR next week, the week after for sure. They need to givr us some indication of quantum. Wondering whether 50 "orders" is ...more

...nevermind the spelling - the key is keeping it Kontroled (the virus, what did you think I meant) :)

I am sure it has been said here before yank.  Canada has tons of oil and gas companies and the word "energy" is in them everywhere. We are a resource nation to many in many ways. This helps clarify we are not that.    Ask anyone here in Canada who doesnt know KNR and say "What do you think Konrtol Energy does?"   9 out of 10 or more would say oil or ...more

I so tire of your unshakable (and zealous) faith. Their core business, lest you forget, is "energy" - just not the way you keep talking about it. Sheesh. Thinking is something one can never over-do. Posting, yes. Oh, and patronizing, certainly.

I say it because we are a CANADIAN company.  Our stock market is heavyily weighted to "energy" stocks.  We do NOT want to be thought of an oil/gas company when we list on the TSX.  And we list soon after the name change. The reason seems pretty straightforward to me.  I am okay with it. Cool that you're not, but maybe if you were Canadian it would be more ...more
