You great thinkers are this obtuse on the nature of patents?  No. Unless they changed the actual unique  function and purpose of the device. Just always remember you guys didn't know that okay. They can change the color too if they like. Sheesh.

And the protection extends from the date of filing (provisionally of course).

But someone the other day mentioned the chip shortage issue and one has to wonder if fewer boards is related to that... but how the hell would I know?

I like my answer better because I don't know what changes were made to the boards. After the changes, doing the same thing a little bit differently, or doing the same thing the same way. I leave it to others to make an assumption without knowing the details and potentially giving the wrong answer. ;-)

The German exchange thing? You were wrong twice on the same subject and you want to get back at me? Move on, you are wrong about my assessment of the question here as well. One could play the three strikes and you are out game, but you strike me as someone that wants to go 9 innings, 3 outs per inning, etc. My advice, not worth it. Cheers.

To be fair "the German exchange thing" is more of a grey area. Volume dictates price with alternate tickers. So yes a price spike on what is usually a low volume day on those exchanges means pretty much nothing for us, but at the same time a nice price spike on heavy volume on those exchanges could be a good indicator beyond just the weighted volume average .
