Thermo Fisher launches device that can detect COVID-19 in the air

John Burke, fire chief at the Sandwich Fire Department in Massachusetts, said the department could get results from the AerosolSense Sampler within 24 hours — which was critical. Dr. John Broach of UMass Memorial Medical Center said the device was helpful not only in a field hospital but micro areas such as breakrooms.

The New York Times noted that the device sells for $4,995, with experts describing it as more simpler and accessible than other air-testing devices on the market.

Cheaper but much, much slower.  A lot of virus will escape that net.

I'd like to see KNR advertise in trade magazines for US and Canadian hospitals.  There must be several.

From the NY Times article: Anybody know if KNR has done any trials in a hospital COVID ward?  Would be nice to have a doctor or two on record saying that yes, BioCloud did detect the virus and set off the alarm.

Don't know if they have of course but I think that sort of thinking that (I paraphrase) "yeah we tested and confirmed our assumptions" is substandard. Better is : "hey, we monitor regardless" - which is what the Biocloud does. So if you take the first approach and assuming your break room is safe and then you have an outbreak that could have been avoided - well, you should
