That piece is from Mar 27 !!  That was the gloomiest of the gloomy times.  Div cuts ain't gonna happen.  We are now in the vaccine euphoria period.

The "Big Six" was created by adding National - they are not "big" nor do they deserve the same respect due to the fact that they have reduced their dividend. Why anyone would buy National with a yield of less than 4% (today) vs BNS at almost 5.5% is beyond me.

Why the fixation on dividends? National has had way better returns than any other bank for quite some time now. Piper

You guys need to catch up to current news. The only Bank that cut its dividend during Covid is Laurentian and it was in big trouble long before Covid hit. No other bank, including National cut, and if you look at the most recent earnings, none are in danger of cutting their dividnds. If fact, when OSFI removes the prohibition on increasing dividends I expect to see most of them increase their ...more
