2010 - 2014 TIMELINE

After finding the Prophecy Coal website ( other day )
I decided to compile ( several most ) important subjects from
2010 to 2014 ( end ).

I added a few comments throughout.
I'll provide a follow up post covering a few topics
i think are rather intersting.

Jan 04 2010
Northern + Prophecy

Sept 27 2010
Prophecy Drills 496.06 meters of 0.596 g/t PGM+Au,
0.27% Ni, 0.18% Cu, 0.02% Co (0.45% NiEq*)
from Surface at Wellgreen, Yukon.
Plans 1,000m of drilling - 200m stepouts

Northern Platinum (merged with Prophecy on Sep 23, 2010) drilled holes 177 – 182 during the summer of 2010. Results from Wellgreen holes 177 and 178 including NiEq% are outlined in the following table:
https://www.prophecycoal.com/news_2010_sep27/

Nov 03 2010
4,300 metres of underground development on seven levels, three internal shafts and over 500 surface and underground drill holes.

800 previously unreported chip channel samples taken at 2 metre intervals along the underground workings were assayed for Platinum (Pt) and Palladium (Pd) at ALS Chemex Labs in Vancouver, B.C. Of these, 174 samples where Platinum or Palladium grades exceeded 1g/t were thereafter assayed for Gold (Au), Rhodium (Rh), Osmium (Os), Iridium (Ir), and Ruthenium (Ru). The 2007 sampling program was overseen by Rory Calhoun, P. Geo., now an employee of Prophecy. Concentrations of Rhodium, Osmium, Iridium, and Ruthenium were present in all of the follow-up samples. Assays where Rhodium exceeded 0.5g/t are listed in the following table:
“Rhodium is present in anomalous concentration compared to other Canadian Ni-Cu ores. In fact the only other Ni-Cu cores with comparable values are the near age equivalent Noril’sk ores in Russia. Average massive sulphides contain 400 ppb Rh (0.4g/t) where values in the 0.3 g/t – 1g/t range are not uncommon in the basal portion of the massive sulphide orebodies.”

With these highly encouraging results, Prophecy is assaying 470 drill core samples for all 6 Platinum Group Metals from drill programs by Northern Platinum Ltd. and Coronation Minerals Ltd. since 2006. Those core samples were previously assayed for Platinum and Palladium and yielded results over 1g/t of Platinum and Palladium combined.

Nov 29 2010
Diamond drill holes WS10-179 to WS10-182 were drilled during the summer of 2010 by Northern Platinum (which merged with Prophecy on September 23, 2010). WS10-183 was drilled by Prophecy in October, 2010. Highlights from the newly received assays include 71.17 metres from surface of 0.52% NiEq (0.310% Nickel, 0.466 g/t PGMs + Au and 0.233% Copper) and ended in mineralization. 2010 drilling has concluded due to winter conditions and will resume in spring of 2011.

Results from holes WS10-179 through 183 (and hole WS06-153 from previous program) are outlined in the following five tables (all intercepts reported in metres):

Hole WS10-179 to WS10-182 were drilled west of WS10-177 (with 525.90 m of 0.17% Cu, 0.26% Ni with 0.550 g/t PGMs+Au), on 50 metre vertical spacing above and to the north of hole 153, which was drilled by Coronation Minerals in 2006 (as shown in the above table).

Hole 182 encountered 71 meters of 0.52% NiEq sulphide mineralization and remains open at depth from surface. This hole ended in mineralization and was stopped by Northern Platinum for budgeting reasons.

Holes WS10-179 to 181 were drilled too shallow to intersect the deeper and better mineralized zone which was intersected by hole WS06-153 (with 523.42 m of 0.43% NiEq).

Drill hole WS10-183 was drilled on the south end of the main East Zone to test surface mineralization. The hole encountered 27.92 metres assaying 0.149% Cu, 0.30% Ni, with 0.625 g/t PGM+Au (0.52% NiEq) and was stopped 100 metres short of the projected foot wall due to severe winter conditions. Those results are encouraging as the grade typically enhances towards the footwall. It is planned to re-drill and deepen this hole in spring 2011.

Holes 182 and 183 demonstrate the near surface mineralization within existing resource boundaries where only underground resources were calculated.

The assays do not include the rarer PGMs such as Rhodium (Rh), Ruthenium (Ru), Osmium(Os) and Iridium (Ir), which could further enhance the total PGM grades. Extensive tunnel sampling results released on Nov 3, 2010 shows extensive rarer PGM values with grades reaching 6g+/t of combined Rh+Ru+Os+Ir. A total of 470 drill core samples from the 2006 to 2010 drill programs that assayed better than 1g/t Pt or Pd are being assayed for Rhodium, Osmium, Ruthenium, and Iridium with results pending.

The 2010 program has extended the 2008 resource to the east with widths as evidenced by hole WS10-177 (with 525.90 m of 0.17% Cu, 0.26% Ni and 0.550 g/t PGMs+Au) and WS10-178 (566.78m of 0.16% Cu, 0.23% Ni and 0.517 g/t PGMs+Au) which were drilled on the eastern edge of the resource envelope. The results from these two holes are highly encouraging as they demonstrate a potentially new mineralization trend starting and extending to the east across Arid Creek. The Fugro airborne magnetic anomaly over the eastern extension of the ultrabasic sill across Arrid Creek also demonstrates the potential for significant mineralization to the east of holes 177 and 178.

The independent study incorporated drill data from
701 diamond drill holes (182 surface and 519 underground)
totalling over 53,222 metres. Using a 0.4% NiEq (nickel equivalent) cut-off grade,

Historic production focused on the massive sulphide pods/embayments.
Recent exploration by Prophecy Platinum has concentrated on the evaluation of the Wellgreen property to host larger, lower grade, tonnages of PGM-enriched Ni-Cu mineralization.

The modeled resource in this press release demonstrates that the disseminated material extends from surface to at least 800 meters depth, making a large volume of this material amenable to a low cost-bulk tonnage open pit mining scenario.

Higher-grade pockets of semimassive sulphides (>1% Cu and Ni and >2 g/t Pt), as historically mined by Hudson Yukon, are expected to continue to be located through exploration efforts. These higher grade pockets, although not continuous, could be targeted in a potential open pit operation in order to accelerate the project’s pay back.

The ongoing 2011 diamond drill program announced in the Company’s June 2, 2011 press release has been designed to augment this reported resource in recognition of the significant tonnage that was overlooked by previous operators on the property. There are two diamond rigs operating on the property since May, with drill results expected in the summer.

2015 used a 0.15% Eq Ni cutoff = allows more tonnage
One can include lessor grade blocks increasing tonnage.

What did 2017's press say ?
- cutoffs
- spot prices
- extraction
- boundary changes

If i were to hazzard a guess ?
Boundary changes - ug mine and quill ( 2015 pitshell carved into quill )
Cutoffs bumped up erasing lower grade blocks - less tonnage
Extraction - too course
Spot prices ( low ) urged one to keep higher grade blocks / dicard rest to waste
Exotics - someone does not want these measured
Exotics - assists higher grade avg - not incl would reduce overall oz's

January 3, 2012 ( interesting )
Approximately 9,000 meters of underground drilling have been planned,
targeting the infill areas of the existing Wellgreen inferred resource

Underground rehabilitation and development started in November and will be ongoing throughout 2012. Drill permits have been obtained and crews have been mobilized to prepare drill stations, where drilling is to be conducted from the historic workings on the Wellgreen property which are accessible by an adit into the 4250 level.

The Company expects underground drilling to continue year round covering
the 1 km strike Wellgreen East Zone.

Separately, the company has also signed a contract for a minimum 10,000 meters of surface drilling starting in the spring of 2012.

Between 2 to 4 surface drills will be dedicated toward the surface program which will run concurrently with the underground program upon its commencement.

The surface drilling will cover the proposed pit area, the West zone, and the northernmost portions of the Wellgreen intrusion with high grade channel samples in excess of 241 g/t Pt+Pd+Au over 0.5 meters.
Surface drills will also be devoted toward continued exploration outside of the 2 km resource strike boundaries, in order to test open areas at depth and to the east as delineated by magnetic anomalies and known lithological contacts.

Reveals exotics and amplification of a 6E equivalent.

6E assay results are still pending for an additional 260 samples taken from WS11-188, including samples from sections that showed higher Pt and Pd grades in the above table.

In 2007, 800 chip channel samples taken at 2 metre intervals along the underground workings were assayed for platinum and palladium at the ALS Chemex Lab in Vancouver, B.C.

Of these, 174 samples where platinum or palladium grades exceeded 1 g/t
were assayed for Rh, Ru, Os and Ir.

The 2007 sampling program was overseen by Rory Calhoun, P. Geo. , now a consultant of Prophecy. Subsequent 6E assay results were announced in a Prophecy Coal's press release on November 3, 2010. For comparison, assay results where Rhodium exceeded 500 ppb (0.5 g/t) are tabulated below. Concentrations of Rh, Ru, Os and Ir were present in all of the follow-up samples, and the total PGE content (6E) increased by an average of 114.8% over prior assay results which only included Pt and Pd.

All of the holes reported in this release were stopped due to poor ground conditions with mineralization occurring to the end of the hole. As a result, the hanging wall (i.e south contact) of the host intrusion has yet to be reached by underground drilling, indicating there is significant mineralization that is yet to be ascertained at Wellgreen.

Six additional holes are yet to be reported on Station 4 and one hole is outstanding for Station 1. The company has currently completed two holes from station 5 (3095E), further into the adit where higher Ni-Cu-PGE grades have been modeled.

The surface drilling program which commenced in late June has now completed 2 holes, with both reaching the footwall contacts and encountering some intercepts of massive sulphides. There are three drills (one UG & two surface) on the property and a fourth drill is expected on surface in late July.

Results of infill and exploration drilling will be published monthly throughout the summer.

PEA correction revising spot metal prices.

In line with pricing assumptions used by comparable issuers, the Company has revised the base case metals pricing assumptions from Energy and Metals Consensus Forecast (EMCF) to London Metals Exchange (LME) 3 year trailing averages. The long term LME pricing method is more commonly adopted in base case studies by comparable issuers and closer to today’s spot metal pricing, which offers investors a more balanced view of project economics.

RECAP
Jan 03 2012 Press

9,000 meters of underground drilling have been planned, targeting the infill areas of the existing Wellgreen inferred resource, and potential expansion of the resource southward to fill the pit area currently being designed in the Company's Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) due for completion in Q1 of 2012.

In addition to definition drilling, a separate Prophecy exploration team, assisted by Dr. Larry Hulbert, P. Geo, is compiling extensive historic data

The Company expects underground drilling to continue
year round covering the 1 km strike Wellgreen East Zone.

February 4, 2013

“Over the past several months our Wellgreen team has been compiling all of the historic exploration data on the project and systematically integrating it along with the results from the 2012 program.  This work is showing a nearly continuous zone of disseminated PGM, nickel and copper mineralization in ultramafic intrusive rocks of up to 200-500 metres in thickness with a higher grade package of ultramafics lower in the section of up to 150-300 metres with substantially higher PGM content.”

Highlighted drill results are summarized below in platinum equivalent (Pt Eq.)  &  (Ni Eq.)

  • WS12-214 intersected three mineralized intervals totalling 362.8 metres of 2.22g/t Pt Eq. or 0.49% Ni Eq. including 37.6m of 5.31g/t Pt Eq. or 1.18% Ni Eq.;
  • WS12-205 intersected five mineralized intervals totalling 314.4 metres of 2.38g/t Pt Eq. or 0.53% Ni Eq. including 44.1 metres of 4.13g/t Pt Eq. or 0.92% Ni Eq.;
  • WS12-203 intersected two mineralized intervals totalling 317.2 metres of 1.91g/t Pt Eq. or 0.42% Ni Eq.;
  • WS12-208 was entirely mineralized, totalling 142.5 metres of 4.01g/t Pt Eq. or 0.89% Ni Eq.;
  • WS12-204 intersected three mineralized intervals totalling 295.0 metres of 1.92g/t Pt Eq. or 0.43% Ni Eq.;
  • WS12-213 intersected two mineralized intervals totalling 251.9 metres of 2.08g/t Pt Eq. or 0.46% Ni Eq

MORE DRILL RESULTS
East

Central Drill Results
West zone

The East Zone contains many isolated massive sulphide lenses in and around the underground workings that occur near the base of the ultramafic host rocks. Though historic work focused on these massive sulphide bodies, as currently envisioned, these limited but very high grade zones are seen as enrichments in a much broader zone of disseminated material which spans the entire ultramafic body and demonstrates continuous mineralization for at least 400 vertical metres. In this section, the higher grade lower ultramafic package is confined to an area adjacent to the Hasen Creek sediments and seems to follow the contact very closely reaching widths of up to 160 metres. Although confined in the upper 300 metres, this zone appears to be widening with increasing depth and remains open in that direction. Drill holes in the East Zone were designed to drill across the mineralized horizons, with 19 individual intersections averaging 100 metres in width with an average base metal content of 0.35% Ni Eq. and average PGM content of 0.32 g/t Pt Eq. for a total of 1.90 g/t Pt Eq.

00%-owned Wellgreen PGM-Nickel-Copper project in Canada’s Yukon Territory. Field activities, metallurgical test work and engineering initiatives commenced in June with the comprehensive re-logging and re-sampling of up to 12,000 metres of historic drill hole cores from across the main Wellgreen deposit, approximately 75% of which have never been tested.

Re-logging / sampling and bulk mineability assessment of up to 12,000 metres of historic drill holes which were previously only selectively assayed for narrow, very high-grade, massive sulphide zones. Drill hole cores will be re-logged and comprehensively analyzed for platinum, palladium, rhodium, and gold (4E), nickel, copper and cobalt mineralization with NI 43-101 quality control measures to allow for their inclusion in the updated 2014 PEA.

This re-sampling program highlights the contrast between the historic model which focused on narrow, very high-grade zones in the deposit and the current approach which looks at potential open pit and bulk mineable underground production. This low-cost, high-impact re-sampling program will allow for better assessment of bulk mineability across a large area of the deposit and has the potential to define new zones of mineralization that have not been previously recognized (see figure below). Samples from the East and Far East Zones (E and FE) and North Arm have been submitted for analysis with broad visually mineralized intervals of ultramafic intrusive rocks. First results from this re-sampling program should be available within the next 4 to 6 weeks.

A second higher grade target area occurs within the Far East Zone at the eastern end of the main Wellgreen deposit. Modeling and compilation of historic drill holes has identified a thick mineralized zone which appears to occur in this area to the north of the main tabular Wellgreen deposit. This zone is completely open to the east and may connect the main Wellgreen deposit with the nearly untested North Arm ultramafic body.

The North Arm falls within the current pit model but, due to a lack of modern drilling data, is not included in the current mineral resource estimate.

This area has the potential of being reclassified from waste material into a mineral resource designation, adding to the economics of the Wellgreen project. The areas to the east and north of the main deposit hold potential for expansion of the mineral resource, with some of the best holes drilled in the deposit to date in these areas.

In addition to the two areas highlighted above, the main Wellgreen deposit appears to be open to expansion over its entire 2.5 kilometre length down dip to the south.

pleased to announce the first results from the 2013 field program at its 100%-owned Wellgreen PGM-Ni-Cu project,

FAR EAST
These results indicate the potential for the Far East Zone to be laterally extensive with broad zones of significantly higher grades than the average of the Wellgreen deposit.  Several of these holes contain Pt Eq. grade thickness values of 1,000 g/t-m, which are some of the best intersections to date on the project.

Highlight intercepts from the newly interpreted mineralized area

quivalent and 3E PGM (platinum + palladium + gold) (see definitions below):
  • WS-154 intersected five intervals totaling 501.2 metres grading 1.84 g/t Pt Eq. (0.55 g/t 3E PGMs with 0.26% Ni and 0.19% Cu) for a total Pt Eq. grade thickness of 922 g/t-m
  • WS-160 intersected two intervals totaling 443.6 metres grading 2.46 g/t Pt Eq. (0.84 g/t 3E PGMs with 0.31% Ni and 0.30% Cu) and including 352.7 metres of 2.62 g/t Pt Eq. (0.93 g/t 3E PGMs with 0.31% Ni and 0.33% Cu) for a total Pt Eq. grade thickness of 1,094 g/t-m
  • WS-165 intersected two intervals totaling 194.1 metres grading 2.99 g/t Pt Eq. (1.24 g/t 3E PGMs with 0.26% Ni and 0.55% Cu) and including 60.7 metres of 4.24 g/t Pt Eq. (2.02 g/t 3E PGMs with 0.24% Ni and 0.99% Cu) for a total Pt Eq. grade thickness of 581 g/t-m
  • WS-193 intersected two intervals totaling 410.7 metres grading 1.77 g/t Pt Eq. (0.46 g/t 3E PGMs with 0.29% Ni and 0.10% Cu) and including 357.7 metres of 1.84g/t Pt Eq. (0.49 g/t 3E PGMs with 0.30% Ni and 0.11% Cu) for a total Pt Eq. grade thickness of 726 g/t-m

During the review, the technical team focused on several areas of particularly wide and significantly higher grade mineralization. The Far East Zone at the eastern end of the main Wellgreen deposit is one of these areas and our new interpretation indicates the potential for a large new zone of mineralization which is distinctive from the main tabular Wellgreen deposit.

Historically, drilling in the main Wellgreen deposit was stopped upon entering the “footwall” sediments, which were assumed to be the northern boundary to mineralization. Results from the review of deeper drilling in the Far East Zone indicate the footwall sediment package does not extend completely to depth, but rather exhibits a wedge-like geometry. This suggests that this zone may extend significantly toward the west as well as toward the east and that there is potential for a broad area of additional mineralization that was not previously recognized beneath the sediment package toward the north. This new zone may connect with a second mineralized ultramafic body called the North Arm that has only limited historic drilling but that falls within the pit model.

Drill hole 215 in the Far East Zone has intercepted 756 metres of continuous mineralization grading 1.92g/t Platinum Equivalent (“Pt Eq.”) or 0.46% Nickel Equivalent (“Ni Eq.”), including 461 metres of continuous mineralization grading 2.31g/t Pt Eq. (0.55% Ni Eq.), which contains a 65.6 metre interval grading 4.19g/t Pt Eq. (1.00% Ni Eq.), comprised of 1.33g/t platinum+palladium+gold (“3E”) with 0.56% nickel and 0.45% copper.

Advancement of Metallurgical Optimization Test Work

Metallurgical optimization test work continues on representative samples from disseminated mineralization at Wellgreen. Testing has focused on optimizing the process flow sheet and grind size of the mineralized samples. Current work has been advanced using a staged copper flotation process followed by nickel flotation, which could be used to produce separate copper and nickel concentrates as well as a bulk concentrate.

Magnetic separation is being assessed as part of the flowsheet to confirm possible increases in metal recoveries to concentrates and improvements in concentrate quality.  The magnetic separation process occurs in the flowsheet after the copper flotation circuit and before the nickel flotation circuit. It is believed this additional process step will increase overall PGM and copper recovery, decrease copper that reports to the nickel concentrate, and allow a much more aggressive flotation in the nickel circuit due to the removal of most of the non-nickel sulphide material before it enters the nickel circuit.

Re-logging and sampling work that was part of the 2013 field program has confirmed the extension of mineralization by more than 325 metres to the east of the Far East cross section announced on November 21, 2013.

That cross section included hole 215, which intercepted 756 metres of continuous mineralization grading 1.92g/t Platinum Equivalent (“Pt Eq.”) or 0.46% Nickel Equivalent (“Ni Eq.”), including a 65.6 metre interval grading 4.19g/t Pt Eq. (1.00% Ni Eq.), comprised of 1.33g/t platinum+palladium+gold (“3E”) with an additional 0.56% nickel and 0.45% copper.

These newly interpreted cross sections are 225 to 325 metres east of hole 215 and indicate continuity of the mineralization in the Far East with additional broad zones of mineralization in four different drill holes ranging from 300 to 375 metres in width and grading approximately 2 g/t Pt Eq. (0.48% Ni Eq.). These drill holes are the eastern most in the deposit and, like drill hole 215, also show higher grade zones of significant width at 3-5 g/t Pt Eq. grades.

High grade zone " with in " larger ore body

“After demonstrating that mineralization continued 300 metres to the east of hole 215 in the Far East Zone, we are pleased to report that the same mineralization also continues a similar distance to the west into the East Zone. This higher grade zone of mineralization which typically exceeds 2.5 g/t Pt Eq. now shows continuity over at least 600 metres in strike length, 500 metres width and 100 to 350 metres in thickness within a much larger mineralized body. The higher grade zone also contains a subzone that ranges from 30 to 80 metres in thickness with mineralization between 3 and 6 g/t Pt Eq.

  • Metallurgical testwork using conventional flotation shows improved recoveries for all major metals versus the 2012 Preliminary Economic Assessment, including increases of 35% for platinum and 13% for nickel
  • Results indicate potential production of a high-value bulk nickel-copper-PGM concentrate with grades of 6-10% nickel and 8-12% copper with 11-14 g/t 3E (platinum, palladium and gold) plus an additional 1-4 g/t of rare PGMs (rhodium, iridium, osmium and ruthenium)
  • Improved conventional flotation metal recovery was attained through:
  • - Identification of three major geologic and metallurgical domains with differing response characteristics
  • - Optimization of grind size, reagent selection, pH and conditioning time for each domain
  • - Use of a magnetic separation process with re-grinding of magnetic material for some domains
  • Testing included bulk flotation processes, sequential flotation and bulk separation to produce individual high quality nickel and copper concentrates, which will be assessed further in the future
  • Additional secondary recovery processes have also been identified which could increase extraction of the unrecovered PGM material
