What wrong with America?

A democracy thrives in a free market of ideas and opinion when the opportunity to select its leadership is taken by people of good will who use that right for the betterment of the nation.  We have seen however the destructive force when the vote is used as a weapon just to get even, or to punish the other party.  We all should vote for programs to address our critical national needs, and compromise on how it will be paid for.   No one has all the right answers.  There will be disagreements on how best to do our national work, but we must agree on finding a way to get it done! 

Inaction imperils our future.  The time to debate the issue of climate change for most people ended at around 100 degrees this summer.  Unfortunately, our efforts to begin to address the immense challenge we will face over the coming decades are being stymied by fossil fuel money and a single corrupt senator from West Virginia, and every damned Republican too. 

Don’t Republicans have grandchildren too?  Are they so ignorant or closed-minded that they cannot understand the world in chaos that we will be leaving to them?

We said all that in the 60's.  Maybe you hadn't heard.  It didn't do any good.   We decided to go to work, start families, and add to our community.  However 9/11 reminded us all, we can't just build a wall and ignore the rest of the world.  b.
