Pala's "playbook" with Nevada Copper

Pala's playbook with NCU might be something similar to what has been done in the past with other assets. Google one of the lines below and see for yourself.

Also, there was an NCU press release announced October 6, 2022 about a potential change in control and it was mentioned in a later PR (same month) that they didn't expect it to go through. The absence of insider trading (for more than a year, especially when SP was and still is trading at a ridiculously low price compared with it's intrinsic value, imo and analysis) tells me that directors and management possess non-public info. Given NCU lack of funds for the OP, there's a chance that another company stepped (after October 26 press release) with a better offer, or the original offer is still in the works / already completed.

Their are other major shareholders as well.  If Pala was going private they'd have done it when the situation was more critical (2021-2022).  They also could had delisted but didn't. Instead they spent considerable effort to get funding for underground continuation.  The play book is to get the company operating and generating a profit.

I've studied their past acquisitions and divestments on previous assets, and the story for NCI is starting to look clearer. Timing for this is everything. They would not have taken almost a month to consider a change of control proposal in Oct. 2022 if they weren’t serious about selling their stake in NCI or losing control of this asset. Below is another link regarding the sale of Pala’s ...more

The europeans have dibs on the ug copper. Pala and friends work closely with them and do not want to tick off ny. Makays thoughts r correct I believe.  My strategy at this point is to hope ncu sp stays soft for another month, at which time I hope to double up my position. I am just a pop player, so double will be small:)) nf

It's now a liability for this mining company to remain public. Look at how the market is pricing this asset! NCI being a public company helped financiers acquire a lion share of this asset pennies on the dollar lol. Now the liability is the low market cap, which could prevent larger offers from being received (if Pala wanted to sell their stake in NCI) or better financing terms for the future ...more

Pala cannot take the company private without 1) paying off the loan from kfw, which is huge and 2) risk getting in legal trouble with Nevada, whose Senator had an act of Congress passed to create a large parcel of freehold land holding the land assets. That was a major factor in the emergence of the company.  They also do not have the money to fund the OP. So they need partners. There are ...more

@Westcoast1000, many thanks for your informative reply,  I wasn't aware the land bill would prevent a privatization. On a side note, I'm trying to wrap my head around Solway purchasing 6 million warrants from Pala for $6 million in a private transaction on December 2021. These warrants have a strike price of $1.00 and they expire May 29, 2023...(Including all the warrants that Pala ...more

Jay, II did not mean to imply it is obvious and certain that the land bill would preclude taking the company private, but I think it would be an obstacle. It would be bad optics. Also, there are pretty explicit laws about take private transactions under British Columbia securities laws, which require a majority (possibly 2/3, I cannot exactly recall this explicitly) of shareholders of every ...more

" risk getting in legal trouble with Nevada, whose Senator had an act of Congress passed to create a large parcel of freehold land holding the land assets." The land swap involved a Federal lands transfer and had nothing to do with Nevada state properties. b.
