...for the commons. That has been my consistent experience in similar situations. That's the price we pay for speculative investments. I have a few that did very well (Ivanhoe Mines for one), but those have been in the minority. It's generally best to not bet what you can't afford to lose. I'll eat a mere $5k in this debacle, small potatoes in the grand scheme of things, and far less than some other investments.

Similar situations:    Would you consider the sale of Nevada Copper a unique situation as it's one of the largest permitted copper mines in the United States?     Current management faced with water issues & ran out of time getting this thing up and running and are forced to sell b/c no more funding.     I can't imagine they are just going to ...more

I agree that's it's worth far more than indicated. That's why I bought a bunch of it. That doesn't necessarily mean anyone will pay what's it's actually worth however. There are plenty of mining projects in the U.S. that are worthy of investment, but can't get a major to buy in. They see projects like Rosemont, Resolution, and Pebble and think it's not worth the ...more

You may be right Contra, but pebble is a very poor comparison, as it is not only not permitted, but fully blocked. This one is easy to develope with the capital. KW
