Gold is holding up well and will probably hold its current price or maybe even rise some more in the short/medium term however careful to not put too much into gold. To replace fiat currency gold needs to be cut into coins and people need to buy it with fiat currency, any run on gold and people slow down their gold purchases. Joeman, Gold Backing does not mean coin the gold... There are already Gold Crypto currencies backed by YRI, GoldCorp and others...the crypto serial matches the actual coin serial. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-03-26/sprott-backed-blockchain-platform-aims-to-give-gold-digital-edge
