who will decide (who will be the next owners)

IQ and softbank?
or all of us ?
Comment by Luna2020 on Jul 20, 2020 8:05am
Tcheck, the board will decide (includes Softbank but not IQ).  And we don't need IQ loans, there should be significant interest from the Li supply chain to provide a very good shareholder outcome.  The board will bring the best deal for the shareholders.  The judge should put his stamp of approval.   Shareholders, after months of waiting, the time has come to find the ...more

I love your optimism Charlene, it is very refreshing on this forum.... ;-) I too think there could be a positive outcome as there will be some on the board not influenced by political agenda and/or favouritism. Professionals can see through the rhetoric and will do their job which is to look after the owners first and foremost. The monitor and judge have a role to play looking after all ...more

Mick, thanks for hanging in there with other positive shareholders.  There is the logical and emotion sides to this. Last year when they tried to raising funding, they got negative feedback about the toxic nordic bond and the lack of detail on the engineering specs.  It feels like they took the Pallinghurst offer to buy time to address those issues.  The CCAA provides more time to ...more

the board didnt do its job before didnt scrutinise the financing deal .evrything was all funded  according to them . didnt check the ceo agreed to all the offtakes and streaming arrangements andthey still have  iq and softbankrepresentation sitting there and influencing the process . IQ will be part of the next deal ,count on that . the one missing ,the big absent one  is we we ...more

I am with the Longs here... Yeah, $NMX was a screw-up under Bourassa... old news. Post-Covid, the green push is on, but diversification is key to keep (ICE cars) This could be the catalyst for what is called the planet's 2nd biggest lithium play... and man, we have Graphite, Nickel, .... coming out of the ying yang ;) ... not to mention the only Cobalt smelter in North America.... a ...more

correct me if I am wrong, but I got wind that there will not be a court hearing today. more delays it seems...
Comment by Luna2020 on Jul 20, 2020 12:57pm
In this case, it might be a good thing.  Could mean that the auction process is extended ... it would mean higher prices.
Comment by mick1888 on Jul 20, 2020 1:35pm
Surely the RAN lawyer can confirm the exact reason for a delay? If there wasn't a pre-request by last Friday, I would assume the various legal representatives would have been at court today for the hearing and would have been party to the delay proceedings?
Comment by mick1888 on Jul 20, 2020 3:35pm
So, I've been reliably informed that the 20 July date was never confirmed to the courts, it was only a process aspiration for Nemaska / PwC. This does infact mean, as Luna2020 indicated, that the process is ongoing. It is either still in negotiations with bidder(s) or a step further on being the auction. It would help if we, the shareholders and current owners of the project were kept up to ...more

How could this become an auction? Can the bidders still increase their bid? Can they learn about the other bids?
Comment by TicTacTo on Jul 20, 2020 4:50pm
auction is monitor/NMX decision, assume bidders know other bids if auction.
Comment by Ciseaux on Jul 20, 2020 5:19pm
If this is the case, TicTacTo, that would mean that the board of Nemaska would decide of an auction if the best 2 or 3 bids are close?  I would not see any negative. It would only mean that investors evalue the project similarly. If shareholders were getting nothing, that would certainly stay the same. Luna2020 estimates 50 cents to 1 dollar, but I prefer to have lower expectations on what ...more

we have no info if auction is on the menu or not, seems delay in 20th date for motion but mention could be delayed in pwc document. $1 mean a buyer purchase company for 850 millions and after add 1 billion on the table ? really ? own expectation is zero or 15 +/-5 cents but as other duno and we need to wait a little more :-(
Comment by Luna2020 on Jul 20, 2020 8:56pm
TTT, it is feasible to get a $1.  They bidder (e.g. ALB or SQM) could pay $850 million in stock (non-cash), so we have their stock instead.  An NPV of $2.5 billion includes the negative cash flow of an investment of $1 billion to get everything operational and the $200-$300 million in positive cashflow generated every year.  So, $850 million in stock to get $2.5 billion back in ...more

I totally agree that the facebook group was only pushing a re-list on the TSX while an outright sale is possibly the best for shareholders (except those with options). If an auction is silently happening right now, why is it not said publicly?
Comment by TicTacTo on Jul 21, 2020 3:32am
Auction is an optional possibility as mention in pwc calendar but no info if NMX launch effectively an auction process. Let's wait some news.
Comment by TicTacTo on Jul 21, 2020 5:36am
Refinancing was official NMX plan after LACC but no certitude with final outcome. Agree sales of asset with positive equity allowing some distribution to shareholders already positive outcome, need C$85 million net equity to recover 10 cents/sh. Important number of bidders increase chance to maximize company value. We are due to wait little more for bidding result, cross fingers but keep ...more

Let's first hope we will not get zero ...
Comment by TicTacTo on Jul 21, 2020 6:02am
Do not see interest to consider $1 outcome when investors wipe out and zero still important probability ? Not the sales of a company under operation with 8 suitors but an insolvent company under restructuration with 1 billion required to bring project in operation, rarely help to maximize assets value even if 8 bidders (on 13 LOI) seems high and rare amount. Bet many shareholders will be more ...more

If there is an auction the bidders will know what everyone's qualifying bid was before the start. Another aspect is that if the team liked part of one qualifying bid and part of another bidder, as long as neither overlapped, then the two would be put together as one qualifying bidder.
Comment by phantom666 on Jul 20, 2020 10:03pm
and only up bids will be accepted during the auction..
