TC's

SMM (Shanghai Metal News) reported today that spot TC's in China have increased by 40% to $140/tonne. Last year Noranda received around $80/tonne on 506,000 tonnes of concentrate processed. SMM always seem to be behind other sources of sport TC's in China. Open Minerals was at $140/t last month and is currently estimating $170/t.

I was puzzled by drop in zinc producers price while zinc was up today. I suspect the TC negotiations are proceeding as expected and this year we will see TC of 200.
