The deal is done there is nothing further to consider or do.  In my experience we will soon get the agreed amount (1.98/share) in our various trading accounts.    It sounds like it will all be finalized shortly after a perfunctory court hearing on March 2. I  was suprised by the margin of approval in the voting.  As others have mentioned most investors don't ...more

I was surprised at the % that approved as well.  Remember - its Glencore; just becasue I wasnt offered any greenmail to change my vote DOESNT mean others wern't. Now I have no insight into the dissidents being offered EXTRA for their shares; but why on earth would you (Noranda) engage expensive (millions) Kinsgdale if greenmail wrangling was not part of the offer/service Kingsdale ...more

The dissidents made the best out of a bad situation. Problem is we were going to have to put in another 3/share to maintain our economic interest in NIF if the vote went the other way and they did a rights issue. None of the players have particularly deep pockets and even if you think CEZ is worth way more, the new money immediately gets haircut with a Glencore control discount so it's ...more

Something VERY VERY wrong is happening. 32 030 453 FOR and 4 667 859 AGAINST !!! Guys, there is 37 489 975 shares not owned by Glencore... There is no way the participation rate is that high...

Correction : 19 530 453 FOR... It's still 64.54 % participation rate.   4 667 859 voted against and substracted from the big players, 8 337 691, there is still lasting 11 192 762 shares voting FOR vs 4 667 859 voting AGAINST.   That's still +70 % FOR ...

In a few (2-3 weeks ish) your brokerage will contact you teling yuo that youro shares have been called. Then in another week-two (ish) the shares will dissappear from yuor accout and yuo will have $1.98 in place of each sahre - YOU DO NOT PAY A COMISSION when the sahres are redeemed like this.  ALternatively, yuo seem to be able to sell today at $1.97 ($1.98 even) and could avoid the wait ...more
