Just wondering..

Not a lawyer here so I'm wondering why all the extensions. Knee jerk reaction is court dates, negotiations etc. Is there any other reason? Would an extension also prevent a counter offer from being made?

Another bidder can enter the fray at any time. I guess for a counter from Wyloo, their talks with BHP would have to officially terminate.

That makes perfect sense. If another bidder was interested, my guess is they would wait for the smoke to clear before dropping the mic.
