Webequie First Nation does not think there is a need for an Indigenous-led Regional
Assessment. However, if there are serious considerations by the federal Minister of
Environment and Climate Change to have an Indigenous-led Regional Assessment, then
Webequie First Nation as agovernment, and as the mostproximate Indigenous
community with proven and active Aboriginal and TreatyRights in the assessmentarea,
should be one of the primary communities in the Indigenous-led Regional Assessment

https://bit.ly/3I5dljs Webequie FN's submission on Fed Regional Assessment in Ring of Fire. It's not necessary. Working on own Indigenous-led EAs for roads. ROF is almost entirely on their traditional territories. Attawapiskat and Neskantaga have no authority over mineral camp.
