A sign of things to come?
This was an acquisition of a small company by PetroBakken in the Cardium - all Bakken, Cardium, Viking and Lower Shaunavon co's are very, very valuable. There isn't any more land to acquire - the only way for the Big Co's to acquire more land, is to buy the small co's that own it.
These plays are HUGE. No exploration needed - it's known where the oil is. Just drill the horizontal wells next to the old 1950's vertical wells and get to the other 70 - 80% of the oil under the tight rock that has not been retrievable until the last 2 years with the invention of horizontal / multi-frac technology. The added bonys is that the drill costs per well are getting lower and lower as they acquire more knowledge in how to use this new technology.
Here is an example of a recent acquisition of a small co. in the Cardium, acquired by PetroBakken (PBN). Beren's, the small light / tight oil play co. went from 29 cents to $2.70 in 1 year:

The big oil companies doing the acquiring are interested in
any land in the tight oil areas: Viking (SW Sask), Cardium, Bakken & Lower Shaunavon. Novus has property in Viking, Cardium AND Bakken!!

I called Novus (Julian) recently and said, I realize they are busy with 'real' work, but their website needs a little info for investors! If they could just get a PDF of their Dec. '09 Corp. Presentation posted on the home page until the website is complete - that would help tremendously. Just to be able to view info on their properties, where they've come from and where they are going.
Anyone that wants to call them and suggest this, please do so! They need to think about a little marketing - as long as we have finished buying all the stock we plan to! ;-) The phone # is on their website:

Good luck investing everyone! The only thing I see holding the price down is the large amount of shares that recently became free-trading from the 65 cent Nov financing. Weak hands to strong hands - their loss!
All Above: My Opinions Only. ;-)
