Pennydeadful not so bright
I think the thing that most people don't understand is that when a company buys NVS, they are not buying stock at 0.79 at the prices that stupid people are selling the stock at, they are buying a company and that company is worth over $2.00 per share. I am sure that who ever buys NVS has already loaded up as much as they are allowed to to not disclose at these prices. the rest will be over 1.50.

This is absolutely correct. Every ticket must be stamped either solicited / unsolicited. Also, both firms have institutional / retail components, so the trade flow isn't that meaningful, especially at low volumes.

I would think that the firm and indiiduals in the firn would be extra cautious not to get into a potential insider information pickle, especially so late in the process and at such low volumes. Just not worth the risk.

ABoil, the volume was over 50K which I agree is low, but my main concernis that this was the first trades that i saw from either brokerage since the announcement. I'll accept your explanation as it does make sense. I was just curious.
