lol, black market price between $8.5/$10 per gram. I know first hand how cheap the black market has gotten. You can buy premium for $150 an OZ. That $5 per gram. You can buy outdoor for $100 per OZ. Thats $3.50 per gram. When it goes legal their prices will drop even further. Will be able to pick up premium for $100-$125. Fact check your sources before spouting craap

Yeah I read that article too and doubt the ability in the short run but over the long run I think they will win. (By long I mean 50-100 years lol). The younger generation will get more accustom to buying it from a store with variety and trusted regulation, health inspection etc. Even just convenience of getting used to standard hours which you don't get with your average dealer. Add to that ...more

If only they let the LP's go straight to market instead of the gov getting involved. LP's can produce under $2 per gram. They could be selling it $5-$6 per gram and be making money hand over fist with giving the gov its $1 per gram. That would have killed the black market. But no, the gov gets involved and it gets middled to death

Hahaha YUP! Think Alberta's plan is the best that way so far. License it, tax it, track it, make sure its safe but generally stay the hell out of the way. What could throw a wrench in some of the interprovincial barriers is the new Supreme court case. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/new-brunswick/supreme-court-gerard-comeau-new-brunswick-alcohol-rob-cunningham-1.4436382
