2 Agreements that kinda contradicts each other?

Last Nov 2017 they released a news about the acquisition of HIP by CMED

Jan 2, 2018 HIP and CMED enter supply agreement to supply CMED with cannabis Why enter a supply agreement if you are just going to acquire that company?

It's like paying and supplying yourself. Unless that is CMED backup plan just incase the deal to acquire HIP did not go through
