Explain why that would happen? we were in the .40s before with the merger news. $3.30 with license and expansion news. Follow the time line better

But doesn't the share price essentially mean nothing if you didn't sell as no matter what you'll get 33 CMED shares for every 1000 HIP shares. HIP share price could be 30 bucks right now and thats meaningless if this deal goes through.

That’s exactly right, in recent past I had the experience of another merger. One fine morning, I woke up with share of different company and was wondering when did I buy those shares as I did not pay attention. Anyway, after little research, found out that I got new company’s shares and obviously that was bad deal too.

Because this is what they agreed upon, no matter whether it is now $3.30 or only 0.30c. This is called contract/agreement unfortunately.

HIP GETS 1/3 OF CMED DO YOUR HOMEWORK!   IF IT WOULD BE 1/3, NOBODY HERE WOULD COMPLAIN ABOUT IT BECAUSE ESSENTIALLY YOU STOCK PRICE WOULD $8 Instead. It’s 33 for 1000 (not 100), so it’s not 1/3.

That's why it's weird that it would be a tradeable stock after a deal like that. Anyways I probably made a big mistake lol.

Depending on how that happens? If it is not a merger, then CMED may become a subsidiary of Aurora and both will continue in their own names and HIP shareholders will become shareholders of CMED and will continue the same. But if Aurora acquires CMED and dissolves them by giving their shares to CMED (whatever the agreed ratio is), then HIP shareholders will become shareholders of Aurora.  ...more

Interesting .
Comment by SmellsFishy on Jan 16, 2018 11:21pm
The CMED and HIP transaction has not been approved by the shareholders.   HIP needs 66.67% of shares to be voted in favour of the deal for it to be approved.   At the present 33 CMED for 1000 HIP it would not make sense to vote positively for this deal.  It is more likely that the deal will be adjusted higher for HIP shareholders.   Her is the link to the merger conference ...more

The deal is terrible for HIP shareholders.  At the close Jan 16 2018 HIP shareholders would be getting 76 cents per share. In reaching its recommendation that CanniMed shareholders vote “FOR,” Glass Lewis stated: “Our analyses suggest that the Newstrike/CanniMed merger represents the superior value proposition for CanniMed shareholders at this time” while also recognizing that the  ...more
