Hey! That sketchy Second Cup link is back online

 https://business.financialpost.com/tag/second-cup-news

It takes you back to an article published Monday, April 16, 2018. Definetely suspicious. Something's "UP"  ;)

The article is a good read too.  Second Cup's partner is National Access Cannabis...they run clinics...they are NOT the supplier.

If HIP is named is the exclusive provider to Second Cup's new pot shops...that would be HUGE!

We're talking over 130 locations across Ontario alone!  I don't know how many they have all across Canada.

These articles were talking about indoor smoking lounges as well.  This could be really huge.  If we're named official supplier to Second Cup...then that deal has probably already been made...and maybe they goofed Friday and messed up something causing a trading halt...I dunno...I don't even care.

All I care about is a sweet sweet spike on Monday morning right at the beginning...maybe not at Cannimed levels...but maybe $1.50...who knows?

If you sold before the closing bell on Friday...sucks to be you...you're probably going to miss out huge Monday morning.

The deal is done.....we'll see what the market has to say about it Monday.  My prediction.....UP UP UP  :-D

...because Ggeeman...the Financial Post leaked the news on Friday on their website quick...and only a few people saw it before it was deleted QUICKLY.  .....it happened during or slightly before Friday's sketchy trading halt. ...coincidence? .....this close to legalization.....we're not allowed to believe in coincidences anymore. ...look for the news release to drop between 7:00 ...more

The link posted is active however its a generic search response on second cup. Don't see anything regarding loblaws in talks etc. This would be Parabolic news, however unlikely unless someone can prove othetwords that they are in talks. JM2$

Well...for those of us who weren't foolish enough to sell our shares minutes before Friday's closing bell...it'll be free a ticket to see who's right.....and who's terribly terribly wrong ;)

Why would ANY franchise or dispensary limit themselves to only one brand or company?  If the OCS is taking on 100's of SKU's, including 100 products from Canopy alone (I don't own WEED, this isn't a pump), what customers are going to rush out and go to a store that only carries brand, even if it is WEED?  I don't want to order online, I'd prefer physical stores ...more

One thing that has been proven in all aspects of marketing is that people are true to their brand. A budweiser drinker buys bud. A coors light drinker buy his 60 pack at costco, ipa dudes go for micro brewry. Mothers buy kraft brand for their kids fish cheddar generation to generation. People will go where their favorite product is at
Comment by BUYING4ME on Aug 26, 2018 7:50am
Fair enough, but NONE of these companies have any customers true to their recreational brands because nobody has tried them, which makes exclusivity an even worse idea. You'd be a fool to take a proven coffee franchise and risk it all on a brand nobody has tried, reviewed or tasted, regardless of what brand it is.  Some of the provinces have done the same with TWEED.  They took on a ...more

If HIP sells out their stash early and hits a supply shortage...that's a good thing! That's alot of money coming in for us all at once...and they're not idiots.  They will just outsource from sh!ttier LP's that didn't get provincial supply deals...like Invictus or Harvest One.   They changed their name to Newstrike Brands for a reason.  ...more

You raised a good point about the ability to secure from outsourcing if our supply is sold out. One of the brilliant aspects of Newstrike is their limited brands (I believe only 5). They only produce the most popular strains so availability should be prevalent from third parties.
Comment by Jonzeeee on Aug 26, 2018 12:22am
You can't assume the most "popular" strains are the same genetics from company to company. Do all companies get their seeds/clones from the same sources? No, no they dont. So much ignorance.

Who's decided that HIP, or AUROA, or CANOPY are producing the 'most popular strains'?  We don't have any market data, sales information or consumer data, yet you've decided they're growing the most popular. This is part of the problem.  It's simply a lie to tell yourself they're growing the most popular, regardless of grower or brand.  Here are the 5 ...more

Bakery, Uncle Tecsus, allright uncoated FRESH cheesecake had a block long line to get in till they greatly increased capacity and opened other stores, They used that line up as a marketing tool. if Hip runs out, takes only 3 months or less for full harvest which would be adjusted more closely to demand. Someone likes something they wait, drooling. As to choice, the hundred stores hip opens in will ...more

Those brands are ONLY sold in those shops.  Anyone can buy HIP from the OCS or any other dispensary that wants to sell HIP because the OSC does all the distribution, not individual companies.  It's not like Second Cup can get exclusivity to HIP, or HIP would have to cancel all their provincial deals.  So using your example, who's going to stand an hour in line at SECOND ...more
