PPL Discovers Hydrocarbons at Dhok Sultan X-1 Well, Pakistan

Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has discovered hydrocarbons at Dhok Sultan X-1 well on the Dhok Sultan block, located in District Attock, Pakistan.

The well reached the final depth of 5,827m, and opened up a new play in the western Potwar area. Based on wireline logs, a hydrocarbon bearing zone was identified within the Lockhart formation, which flowed 468 bbl/d oil along with 0.617 MMcf/d gas at 20/64 inches choke size during testing.

Ownership of Dhok Sultan block: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) (75%, operator) and Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL) (25%).....
