TGZ and OLE

Hey Tree..

"There was a conference call today by RBC regarding the results and opinions of the largest African mining conference that just took place. At about 20 minutes into the call, Oromin’s CEO is heard asking a question about Teranga Gold. The gist of the response was it was their belief if they were to do M & A it would only be with Oromin."

Tree, I know your response will be that it was not TGZ management responding to the question.  So do not bother responding.  It was answered by analysts who cover TGZ and know that if TGZ is going to make an acquisition it will only be with OLE for obvious reasons.

It never ceases to amaze me how things get twisted on SH. For the record, the conference call Grandich made note of was a call hosted by RBC. In the Q 7 A, Chet asked a question to RBC what did they think of TGZ's presentation at the just concluded Indaba conference in South Africa. RBC repeated what they believed TGZ said, including when asked about mergers and acquistions that TGZ said the ...more

I for one have felt that some entity would buy both TGZ and OLE. All the synergies are thereand  with the fact that TGZ separated themselves from their parent company screams we are easily sold as a package. Anyone know if Chet has stock in TGZ?.

Hey Mallard. I do not believe Chet has stock in TGZ.  As far as some other entity buying both TGZ and OLE, I believe that is very possible.  Why not?  It makes perfect sense and there are rumors that some are interested.  Like you said the synergies are too many to ignore.
