I received this email from Simply Wall St, claiming that ONC has filed a Follow-On Equity Offering  of $50 million: Common Stock transaction at market value. Did anyonelse receive this? I checked ONC's website and saw nothing related to this under "News". Seems strange after their phone in, which for the most part seemed positive, and then declare an equity finance of $50 million.

It's basically a line of credit instead of an out and out ATM. We can draw on it, sell shares, as and when needed. May need all of it, may need some of it, may need none of it. However means we're afloat for the long term.

If they needed it they would have taken a portion of it right away.....I'd say it's likely more of a nice shiny bargaining chip to prove to any potential suitors that we're not up against a wall, and desperate for cash.

I tend to agree. Shows we have a facility to inject large amounts of money should we need and that we have time to play with. There's no other reason to not just hit the ATM. Smart move.

I don't disagree on the fossil fuel/ clean energy discussion. There has to be a well thought out, long term phase-in for renewables while utilizing your available fuel sources. I can't think of anything positive of this $50 million announcement.  This highlights the fact they are unable to attract a partner and further dilution of the stock is never beneficial to shareholders.  At the current price we will be over 100 million shares again. The biggest negative being unable to secure a partner.
