Volume Picking Up

So since Nord made their Cardinal announcement a few days ago, volume both in Canada as well as the OTC has rocketed.By my count upwards 5+ million shares. I think Nord is a 9% stakeholder in the corporation, so they just might be making a background move, collecting shares, before they make a run at us. I think they can build up to 19.9% before they have to tip their hand. Collecting shares at a dime CAD, is borderline illegal.

As Nord holds the other 55% of MdO, a takeout by Nord of OREA is the best solution.  Only problem is that Nord tends to be cheap - and strategically stupid.  They lowballed Cardinal when they could've picked it up with a reasonable premium and Cardinal's stock price was low.  Another stock you may want to look at in the same region is GLDX.  Lot more expensive but now ...more

Yes, the volume has certainly picked up over the past couple of weeks. Could be retail but also as suggested could be ‘others’ interested in gaining a greater share of OREA. Besides NG you can also throw in at least Iamgold and Sandstrom who both already have noticeable holdings in OREA. New permitted gold mines are becoming more and more scarce (especially larger ones as Montagne d’ Or has the ...more

Clearly, much depends on whether the potential buyers want to share with NG? However, OREA could do nothing over a 2 year buildout and still have 15% or more of the oz at first pour (i.e., approx. 1.25 mill P@P oz – probably more with new results – at US$1500 – 2000 (maybe?) – around AISC of $800 – you do the math and value on share price).
