The One World Doll Project (OWOO) Introduces New Doll Line Co-Developed with Legendary Designer Robert Tonner
The One World Doll Project, subsidiary of One World Holdings, today released images of its new The Prettie Girls! Tween Scene doll line, which was developed in partnership with The Tonner Doll Company and legendary doll designer Robert Tonner.
The Prettie Girls! Tween Scene is a line of multi-cultural dolls that are representative of younger versions of One World’s current Prettie Girls! line with the addition of an Asian American and Caucasian doll. The dolls were developed in partnership with Tonner, who publicly endorsed Prettie Girls! after seeing the doll line at the 2014 Toy Fair. The endorsement led to an alliance between The Tonner Doll Company and The One World Doll Project.
“After last year’s Toy Fair we were fortunate to have quickly secured relationships with Walmart, Toys R Us, HEB and several other online, national and international retailers,” Corinda Joanne Melton, CEO of The One World Doll Project, stated in the news release. “Our focus for Toy Fair 2015 is to showcase our expansion into the 16-inch doll space with The Prettie Girls! Tween Scene dolls and further enhance the business by utilizing the wealth of knowledge, expertise and success that Robert Tonner brings to our strategic alliance.”
The Tonner Doll Company and Robert Tonner are known across the globe and the Tonner brand represents licenses with studios including Warner Bros., DC, Disney, Paramount and Sony Entertainment.
“Since I was a young designer working at Mattel, I have always admired and respected the work of Robert Tonner and am thrilled to be collaborating with him on The Prettie Girls! Tween Scene,” says Stacey McBride-Irby, co-founder and lead doll designer at The One World Doll Project. “The Tween Scene dolls are my tribute to all of our beautiful pre-teen girls out there and I am looking forward to future endeavors Mr. Tonner and I are exploring including licensed projects of memorable comic book characters of color.”
