Bennett- "One of BC's most important salmon lakes" REALLY???

--- Bennett said. But he added there are genuine concerns about the impact of the mine on Morrison and Babine Lake sockeye.

“You hear that all the time – ‘it’s one of B.C.’s most important salmon lakes,’” Bennett said. “Well, this one really is.

DEAR MR BENNETT,
DID YOU EVER CONSIDER LOOKING AT THE DFO NUMBERS ???
How does 1.6% of the Lake Babine sockeye from the Morrison arm qualify as one of BC's most important salmon lakes?

I am assuming that these DFO numbers were aquired in a coordinated effort with the LBN.

1975 to 2010
18,514 sockeye on average from the Morrison arm
1.125,272 sockeye on average returning to Lake Babine
18,514 divided by 1,125,272 = 1.6%

Where would Bennett get his information from? Is it or is it not science based? Perhaps question should be raised to his sources, to see if there may be some conflict of interest surrounding this information which he publicly released.  Accountability needs be restored in the government, for they are damaging lives on both sides of this project.

Great question! Perhaps Coleman and Lake know the source. It sure doesn't appear that Bennett used DFO fish counts, as a basis for his comment.
