This can be to make or resurface a runway, ice road, or any flat stable surface. What they would do it for at this time of year is beyond me.

Purely a guess but I would imagine it is to create a level surface, either to make it easier to set up a drill or to create a road.

The photo shows 3 equally spaced flooding areas. This might just be LDD drilling platforms and this is the spacing they are using between the drill holes. I don't think we have confirmation yet...just idea.s EKIM
